If the year is divisible by 100 then it is a Leap Year if it is also divisible by 400.

During the "war years" when my siblings were born, it was customary to choose your due date as the birth date. The pregnant mother was induced, and the baby was born. I was a post-war baby, and although the practice was still in vogue, my mother said she'd rather have the baby when the baby was ready instead of my due date....FEBRUARY 2nd! Being born on the 29th at 6 lb 15 oz, can you imagine how much smaller I would have been? And remember, neo-natal facilities as we know them now did not exist in 1948.
