Newel Kay Brown

Born 1932 at 7:55 am
"I was born Feb 29, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah and for a number of years was featured in the local newspaper, The Deseret News, with two or three others who had the good fortune of being born on this special day. My field of education was music, having received a Ph.D. in Composition from Eastman School of Music, but my singular claim to fame (and I hesitate to put it that way) is a simple children's song, ""I Hope They Call Me On A Mission,"" which every child in the world-wide Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (often called Mormon) has sung since 1970. I would be pleased to be included in your list of leapyear babies, famous or not. Sincerely, Newel Kay Brown"
