"On my 13th Birthday (leap year birthday) my friends' children baked me a cake with the words ""Happy Bat Mitzvah, Aunt Diane"" It was so cute. It felt good to become a teenager!!! My Mom and Dad would let me choose when I wanted to celebrate my birthday when it was not a leap year. I used to choose the summer since it was so nice and warm and I could have an outdoor party. Coming from Michigan it was pretty darn cold in February.8 years ago I went to a leap day celebration presented by the Plaza Hotel in NYC. They allowed you to stay overnight for the amount of your birth year. I had a great room for only $48.00 at the Plaza. They had a reception in one of the ballrooms with champagne and little gifts for each leap day baby. I met so many other leap day babies it was great fun. They have not had a party like this since. Too bad, it was great fun."
