"I was due on February 18th (a special date for my mom and dad) so they were sure I would be born on that day. But I had something else in mind... My mom went into labor (finally!) early in the morning of Feb. 28th. But I was determined to hold out for MY special day. At about 11:15pm the mid-wife told my mom (while she was pushing and pushing) if I was born in the next 45 minutes I'd have a Feb. 28th birthday, after that I'd be a leap day baby. For a fleeting moment my mom thought, ""Oh, that would be cool!"" And then another contraction hit and she thought, ""NO! Let's get this done, already!"" Lo and behold I was able to make her wait until just after midnight, 12:06am! So, Leap Day Baby, I am with my own very special day in the family!"
