I was born on my Grandpop's 14th birthday. He was 60 but didn't have a birthday in 1900 because only centuries that can be divided by 400 have a Leap Day. We made the front page of the Philadelphia Evening paper first edition but than Ike announced he was running for re-election and knocked us to the back page. (The President didn't announce he intended to run until Feb 29th let alone primaries) I had fun with it and when I was a kid 2/29 was my and Grandpop's special day. During Vietnam when I was 12 I asked if Leap Year would keep me out of the draft. If I was Jewish would I have my bar-mitzvah today?
