Despite the apparent quandary thrust upon us by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 and that unique, romantic status his calendar grants us, we do indeed have a birthday every year, lo, February 29 is the 50th day of the year and that day comes every year. Indeed, if there is anyone truly doomed to dwell in birthday purgatory, it is the group of Earthbound souls born on December 31 of a Leap Year. That day my friends is the real 366th day. I'm no theoretical physicist...I'm just saying...
