Tell Your Story

One of the main goals of the Honor Society is to promote Leap Day awareness... so we are interested in connecting journalists with Leapers.  Many members have given us permission to send their email address to media representatives.

If you are a Leaper interested in being featured in a story, check the list below of journalists looking for subjects for Leap Day 2012 related stories.  If you are a journalist, looking for subjects, contact us, and tell us what you're looking for -- we'll get it posted on this page.

Opportunities

International: CNN iReport -- We are working on a story about people who were born on Leap Day, and would like people to share how they celebrate their birthdays. Here is the link to the assignment.

Australia: The Sunday Age: (Melbourne) -- We're  looking for people who were born on February 29 for a story on what its like to be born on Leap Year Day. It would be great if any members who are interested in going in a story could contact Nathan.

UK: Birmingham Mail -- we're looking to find a few people, from the local area, who either have a birthday or celebrate an occasion, like marriage, on the 29th of February.  Contact Esh.

UK:  Grazia magazine -- I'm urgently looking to interview a British woman (aged between mid-20s and mid-30s) who proposed to her boyfriend. It's for a feature to tie in with the leap year, and we can offer her a fee. Contact Caroline.

USA: USA Today -- USA TODAY wants to talk to people with Leap Year birthdays (and parents of children born on Leap Day) about the choosing to celebrate their birthday on another date and hassles they may have encountered with government agencies and computer programs that don’t recognize Feb. 29.  Contact Michelle.

USA: Sewickley Herald, Pennsylvania -- I am looking for Leap Year babies in the Sewickley area.  Contact Joanne.

USA: WBAP Dallas/Fort Worth -- I'm looking for a local Leap Year baby for an interview as we approach Feb. 29. Contact Ellie.

USA: St. Louis Beacon -- I'm interested in speaking with anyone in the St. Louis area who was born or married on February 29. Contact David (314-608-2637)

USA:  Lamorinda Weekly -- We are in the San Francisco, East Bay area (near Walnut Creek) -- specifically the communities of Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda.  Any leap year baby from within the Lamorinda community -- please contact Cathy.
